Who we are

Visit RedBarn and Lipstick in Zeeland, MI, a family-owned flower farm where fresh bouquets, garden-picked vegetables, and homemade baked goods await. We also offer unique crafts you’ll love. Come for the flowers, stay for the friendly feel!

Twenty-seven years ago, we accidentally wandered onto an old farmhouse in the country. It was definitely rough around the edges—like a tumbleweed with attitude—but we saw something special: potential that everyone else apparently missed (or was too polite to mention). From day one, we dreamed of turning our big red barn into a teaching space, an antique shop, maybe even an event venue.

Over the years, we’ve actually managed to bring some of those ideas to life. Now, we’re excited to zero in on teaching and launching a cozy, on-site farmers market—because who doesn’t want fresh veggies and homemade goodies right next door?

Tom’s our resident practical builder and part-time math wizard (he insists on counting screws), while Brenda adds the touches that make his handiwork look less "fixer-upper" and more "Pinterest-worthy." Together, we’ve crafted an adventurous life on our hobby farm, loving every muddy, sun-soaked minute. Now we are RedBarn and Lipstick.

In three decades, we’ve raised kids, dogs, chickens, turkeys, vegetables, fruit, and flowers (yes, the floral ones count). We’ve also sharpened our woodworking and restoration skills—because some things just need a little TLC, and maybe a few cursed mutterings.

People often ask us, “How do you do that?” Well, now we’re ready to share the good, the messy, and the downright silly moments. We don’t take life too seriously. Our love for our little hobby farm has filled us with joy and lessons (some learned the hard way), and we can’t wait to pass them along—because every farm story is better with a little laughter.
