Good bye to summer

Even though the temperatures have felt much like summer lately, it’s impossible to stop my favorite season from making its gradual but steady change. The trees are already turning vibrant shades of red, orange, and yellow, and leaves are dropping all over the yard in a colorful carpet. This early shift is happening this year mainly because of the drought we’ve experienced. The mums are blazing with rich, warm colors, and yes, pumpkins are proudly decorating the front entryway. Before we know it, sweatshirts will become a daily necessity to keep cozy.

Our little farm isn’t just about growing colorful bouquets and beautiful flowers; we truly want people learn to enjoy all the wonderful vegetables, herbs, and fruits that go beyond the summer months. We are taking our abundant bounty well into the holiday season. This late fall, we want to help you stuff your stockings with healthy, homegrown gifts perfect for Christmas.

With such a plentiful harvest of herbs, we dried and mixed them to create a few of our favorite blends and seasoning mixes. We also used these fresh herbs to craft delicious finishing salts. (Have you ever tried a finishing salt? It’s a fantastic way to elevate your food and add a burst of flavor.) On top of that, we got a bit carried away with our soap making this year. Each handcrafted item will be available as part of our special gift boxes for the Christmas holiday. Be sure to watch our page and Facebook for updates when these items become ready for pick up.

If you have a foodie on your Christmas list, this is truly a must-have gift that combines the best of homegrown goodness and artisanal craft.

I guess we are really not saying goodbye to summer because we are going to keep on enjoying it when the snow flies.
